Coraopolis [korepls] is a borough in Allegheny County in the US state of Pennsylvania. The population was 6,131 at the 2000 census. In 1940 the population peaked at 11,086. It is a small town located to the west of Pittsburgh, along the Ohio River. The town is noted for its steep topography, numerous brick streets, and many large, old, and exquisite homes. American Bridge Company has its headquarters here. Coraopolis is located at 403057N, 80946W (40.515818, -80.162791)GR1.

The racial makeup of the borough was 84.96% White, 12.43% Black or African American, 0.08% Native American, 0.28% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.57% from other races, and 1.66% from two or more races. 0.98% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
